Product Use :

When alkalinity control is added to boiler water, it suppliers free hydroxideAlkalinity in order to accomplish three things

- to maintain a tough protective coating of iron oxide over the metal and thereby prevent certain types of corrosion.

- to provide a proper environment for precipitation of desirable sludge materials.

- to keep silica in solution so as to avoid disposition of silicous scales.

For cooling water and service water supplies. Alkalinity control is used to adjust Ph of the water from the acid side to slightly alkaline for the reduction of metallic Corrosion.

Feed Requirement :

Alkalinity control is used in controlled amount so as to maintain a phenophthalein

Alkalinity in boiler water in the range of 300 to 500 ppm as calcium carbonate. Alkalinitv

Control ranges will vary depending on boiler operating pressure.

Method of Feeding :

Alkalinity can be fed either intermittently to the boiler feed water line or with Continuous feed pump to the feed water line. Deaerator or boiler drum. Alkalinity Control can be mixed in the phosphate - dispersive tank. Materials of construction Of the feed equipment are not critical. But dissimilar materials should be avoided.

Caution :

Since it caustic based, skin, eye contact to be avoided.

5.Accidental release measure:

In case of leaks or spill avoid contact. Use personal protection Refer section 7.Prevent spillage from spreading by using sand, earth or other suitable material. Collect the spilled material in a closed container and remove to safe place for disposal by burning, large spills where material has come into the environment or sewer inform the local authority.
