NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H is a Non-Flammable colourless concentrated solution of hydrazine, which will effectively remove dissolved oxygen from boiler systems.

Purpose :

When operating modern boiler facilities even under ideal conditions, trace quantities of oxygen are left in the feed water despite mechanical de-aeration. NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H will chemically react with active oxygen to form inactive gases of nitrogen and water. Additionally NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H passivates metal surfaces through the formation of protective oxide films thereby minimizing iron and copper deposits in the boiler.

Advantages :

1. It will convert ferric oxide to a protective film.
2. It doesn't contribute dissolved solids to the boiler water & reduces blowdown costs.
3. Makes iron oxide sludge non adherent by completely changing its composition.

Feed Requirements :

Feed solutions should be prepared with a minimum of stirring. Approx. 6.5 parts of NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H are required to chemically react with one part of dissolved oxygen. When using NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H in a system for the first time, requirements will be much higher due to the consumption of NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H by the ferric oxide present. Because of the reaction of NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H with air, feed solutions should be made up fresh daily. NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H should be fed continuously for best results. A positive displacement pump should be used to feed NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H into feed water after the deareator. Continuous feed to this area will supply continuous corrosion protection to the feed water control.
NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER - H is controlled by checking the feed hydrazine residual in the boiler water. The recommended range is 0.1 - 0.2ppm. Control is a simple colorimetric Tests.

Storage & Handling :

NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVANGER - H is harmful if swallowed. Protective equipment should be worn when handling NOVACHEM OXYGEN SCAVENGER – H to avoid skin contact & inhalation. Direct contact and storage in high temperature areas should be avoided. Keep container closed when not in use. Do not store near acids or oxidizing agent.
