NOVACHEM NEUTRAL HCF Cleaner has been developed to remove residual hydro carbons remaining in cargo tanks after they have been cleaned using Tankleen Chemical. NOVACHEM NEUTRAL HCF Cleaner is a biodegradable, water based cleaner, containing special non petroleum solvents and surfactants, which are low foaming and reduce the surface tension and quickly emulsify free flowing hydro carbons.

APPLICATION & DOSAGE :

NOVACHEM NEUTRAL HCF Cleaner is used for the removal of hydrocarbons from cargo tank surfaces after completion of the normal gas freeing and tank clearing procedure. NOVACHEM NEUTRAL HCF Cleaner should be applied by the injection method into the wash water line on deck to obtain optimum results. The recommended procedure is as follows: Wash tanks for one hour using tank washing machines with hot sea water having a maximum temperature as allowed for coating. Wash tanks for two hours with hot sea water injecting NOVA Tankleen Voyage at a rate of 1 liter per ton of water. Flush tanks with, preferably hot, fresh water.

1) Tank Cleaning:
Direct injection method with tank washing machines: Use a dose rate of 0.5-5 litres per ton wash water (0.05-0.5%).
2) Recirculation method:
Use a dose rate of 0.5-10 litres per ton wash water (0.05- 1.0%)

If the tanks are being washed using closed recirculation method, then the dosage rate for NOVACHEM NEUTRAL HCF Cleaner will be10 liters per ton of water. As the contaminated wash water is in an unstable condition, rapid separation of oil will occur when pumped to the slop tank. Since the separation process is very rapid and effective, no time is lost in pumping the slop ashore. The separating station can then deal with the slops fast and effectively allowing them to recover the oil as a valuable commodity.

Directions for use :

General Cleaning:
NOVA’s Neutral HCF can be used for all types of cleaning and degreasing, and it can be applied by brush, hand spray or used in ultrasonic bath (if available). It can be used undiluted or diluted up to 50 parts in water according to the amount and type of soil to be removed. NOVA’s Neutral HCF can also be applied on vertical surfaces without any problem due to its viscous nature which increases the resident time.

Spot cleaning:
Hand sprayed neat or diluted up to 1-5 parts with water. Leave solution for about 20-30 minutes before washing off, but make sure the surface remains wet. For problem deposits, please use multiple times. NOVA’s Neutral HCF can be used on the Majority of tank coating materials, painted or lacquered surfaces, light metals, plastics and textiles.
